They involve groups of girls ages 10, 13 and 14 years to examine the relationship between the initial time periods and depression.

Research shows, girls who get first menstruation before the age of 11.5 years tend to experience depression at the age of 13 and 14 years. Then, the new get first menstruation at the age of 13.5 years are relatively less likely to suffer the same symptoms.

"Girls who mature earlier may feel isolated and have to face reality and change, where they are not ready emotionally," said head researcher Dr Carol Joinson of the School of Social and Community Medicine at Bristol University, as quoted by NY Daily News.

These changes include hormonal fluctuations and conflicts with friends or parents. This includes when they suddenly get special attention from the opposite sex.

Currently, a simple blood test kits made by a company in Miami, USA, is being tested as a new breakthrough for detecting diseases associated with memory impairment scary. Researchers around the world called the findings interesting and promising.

Based on the findings that have been published in the journal Cell, the tool is useful for early detection of memory impairment diseases in the hope of help before the patient reaches an advanced stage of dementia.

In the process of research, scientists focused on antibodies, enzymes, and other chemicals in the blood of patients with Alzheimer's. The team of researchers from the Scripps Research Institute in Florida, creating thousands of molecules and experimenting to see which ones respond to antibodies found in the immune system of Alzheimer's patients.

Three of the artificial molecule showed a strong reaction to their antibody test results and further replicated. According to reports, the detection method proved 93 percent accurate.

"I think it promises to be a kind of indicator. And that's a good approach," said neurosurgeon Dr. Ravish Patwardhan.

However, Director of the Comprehensive Neurosurgery Network in Louisiana was also questioned why the test can not be done at birth. If it could, he speculated that people at risk of developing Alzheimer's symptoms can be known from birth, so they can get treatment early.
